The Lewis Lab

We are happy to announce that Kathryn (Katie) Little will be joining the Lewis lab in Fall 2026 as a PhD student in the Biological Sciences Department! Katie will be joining us from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC, where she will be completing her B.S. in Conservation Biology this Spring. Katie completed her undergraduate thesis with Dr. Pat Ciccotto and Dr. Alisa Hove, focusing on the use of DNA barcoding to identify and distinguish juvenile stages of two fish species, Nocomis micropogon and Nocomis leptocephalus, that now co-occur in NC freshwater systems. She is generally interested in evolutionary biology and adaptation to ecological stress, and is excited to combine her interests with disease ecology.
